  • How can I maintain my carpet to keep it looking its best?
Regular maintenance helps keep your carpet in great condition. Vacuum at least 2-3 times a week to remove dust and dirt, use a large doormat to reduce dirt spread, and remove shoes at the front door to minimise wear and tear.
  • How should I vacuum my carpet?
Different carpet types require specific vacuuming methods: Loop pile carpet: use a cylinder vacuum cleaner with suction only. Avoid beater heads or brushes Cut pile carpet: use an upright vacuum with a beater bar and brush Soft deep pile carpet: use a vacuum with an adjustable height setting to maintain proper airflow
  • What is the best way to clean spills and stains on my carpet?
Address spills immediately: Blot liquids with a dry cloth or paper towel—never rub Remove semi-solid substances with a plastic spatula Work from the outside of the stain inward to prevent spreading Use warm water and a clean cloth to remove remaining stains For polypropylene carpets, a diluted bleach solution (1 part bleach to 6 parts water) can be used—but never on wool carpets
  • How do I remove common carpet stains?
Follow these steps: Soak up liquids immediately with absorbent cloths Scoop up solids gently If unsure about the stain, try a solvent first Always blot, never rub Apply cleaning solutions to a cloth, not directly onto the carpet Rinse thoroughly if using water-based cleaners Dry the cleaned area with a hairdryer if possible
  • Why is my new carpet shedding?
Shedding is natural with spun yarn carpets and will reduce over time with regular vacuuming. It is not a defect.
  • What causes carpet flattening, and how can I prevent it?
Flattening occurs in high-traffic areas as the pile reflects light differently. Regular vacuuming and rearranging furniture can help.
  • How can I remove furniture indentations from my carpet?
Move furniture occasionally to prevent deep indentations. To lift the pile, gently tease the carpet fibres with a coin.
  • What should I do if I find a long tuft in my carpet?
If you notice a stray tuft, carefully trim it with scissors to match the surrounding pile.
  • Will my wool carpet contain natural imperfections?
Wool carpets are cleaned before manufacturing, but on rare occasions, small traces of natural materials may be present. These do not affect carpet performance.
  • What is pile reversal or shading?
Pile reversal occurs when the carpet nap changes direction, creating a shading effect. This is not a manufacturing fault but a natural characteristic of some carpets.
  • Can my carpet fade over time?
Wool carpets can fade with prolonged exposure to sunlight. Reduce UV exposure by using curtains or blinds and occasionally repositioning furniture.
  • What causes pilling on loop pile carpets?
Pilling (fibre balls) can occur due to abrasion from shoes or pet claws. To prevent it, vacuum with a cylinder cleaner using suction only.
  • Should I use stain-guard treatments on my carpet?
Use stain-guard treatments sparingly to avoid damaging the carpet structure.
  • How do I clean my LVT flooring?
Follow these simple steps: Sweep regularly to remove dirt Wipe spills immediately to prevent stains Mop occasionally with soapy water for deeper cleaning Use doormats to minimise tracked-in dirt Close curtains or blinds to prevent extreme sunlight exposure Apply polish only if you prefer a glossy finish
  • Are LVT floors slippery when wet?
Yes, use caution when walking on wet floors.
  • What should I check before my new flooring is fitted?
Ensure the following: Plumbing and electrical work is complete and signed off Floors are level, dry, and ready for installation Walls are plastered and dry Painting is finished and has dried for at least 48 hours Fixtures, fittings, and built-in furniture are completed Underfloor heating is fully dry and signed off Wooden thresholds are installed, painted/varnished, and dry for at least 48 hours If you have answered “Yes” to all these, your flooring is ready to be installed.
